War persists in Iran and Christian persecution is ramping up against believers who face interrogation, beatings and imprisonment. Joe and Dawn, front-line workers in the Middle East, are helping deliver God’s Word into the Islamic Republic of Iran. When one of their Iranian coworkers disappeared, they began to mobilize prayer from believers around the world. They were at a church when the brother called after 58 days with no contact. His first words were joyful: “I didn’t deny Christ!” Barely recognizable after so much mistreatment, he found joy standing firm for Christ. A pastor who regularly baptizes Christian converts from Islam is being threatened. “I asked him if he might consider taking a break for a little while,” said a front-line worker. “His response was to send me videos of him baptizing more people.” While this courageous pastor continues to carry out the ministry work the Lord has called him to do, he and others serving in the Middle East do so under considerable stress.

She was then blindfolded, drugged and abused for 10 days. After she managed to escape, she gave a detailed description to police, including the names of her assailants. But authorities tried to force her to return to her abusers, claiming she had married one of the men.
