  • FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS, Todd Nettleton has traveled for VOM to restricted nations to meet men and women who boldly live out their Christian faith at great cost. In this inspiring book from Moody Publishers, When Faith Is Forbidden: 40 Days on the Frontlines with Persecuted Christians, Todd invites you to travel with him to meet these bold believers and hear their stories. Each stop on this journey will challenge you to reflect on your own walk with Christ along the sometimes rocky pathway toward our heavenly home.

  • On Dec. 10, 2015, Petr Jasek arrived at the airport in Khartoum, Sudan, for his return flight home to the Czech Republic. But before he could board his flight, he was summoned by Sudanese security for questioning about his activities in the country – activities that, if disclosed, would endanger the persecuted Christians with whom he had met. As the questions continued and he was taken into custody, Petr realized he would not be returning to his family anytime soon.

Instead, Petr was charged with multiple offenses – all for trying to help Christians who had been persecuted by Sudan’s government. Sentenced to life in prison and forced to share a cell with ISIS terrorists, Petr shares this true story of how God gave him strength, courage and a new purpose during his 445 days in prison.

  • On Feb. 29, 1948, Richard Wurmbrand was arrested by the secret police. His crime? Leading Christian worship and witnessing – both of which were illegal under Romania’s atheistic Communist regime. Because of Richard’s faithfulness to Christ, he endured 14 years of prison and torture, while his wife, Sabina, also suffered years of imprisonment and forced labor. Yet they emerged not with a bitter spirit but with a story of victorious faith. This biography explores the inspiring lives of Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand, combining their complete stories into a single volume for the first time.

  • This daily devotional shares 365 stories of courageous, committed and compassionate believers who remained faithful to Jesus Christ despite intense persecution. You will find encouragement and hope in the testimonies of Christians from around the world and from centuries past up to the present. These men and women, both young and old, exemplify what it means to be a devoted follower of Christ.

  • The 16-year-old daughter of a prominent Pakistani Muslim was locked in her room without food or medical attention just for reading a Bible. An Australian missionary chose to spread the message of forgiveness and healing across India after her husband and sons were burned alive by village zealots. In Hearts of Fire, you will meet these women and six others who overcame extreme adversity to emerge as leaders and ministers in the underground church around the world. Their faith and passion will inspire you to pursue Jesus Christ with heart aflame, no matter the cost.

  • Pastor Richard Wurmbrand’s dramatic testimony shocked the world when it was first released in 1967. Many believers today cite it among the most influential books they have read. This is the story of how one man’s faithfulness during years of solitary confinement, torture and suffering led to a worldwide network of support for persecuted Christians. The 50th anniversary edition also includes 14 pages of photos.

  • For 2,000 years, Christians have courageously triumphed over beatings, stonings, burnings and every form of evil to boldly proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ. Foxe: Voices of the Martyrs, AD 33–Today is their story and your Christian heritage. With dozens of images, modernized English and up-to-date accounts of martyrdom, this edition includes testimonies not only of Foxe’s heroes from the early church to the Reformation but also testimonies of those martyred during the Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution, throughout the 20th century and up to today. Their testimonies will inspire you to boldness and serve as a reminder that the same Spirit of Christ that strengthened Stephen, Peter and Paul is at work in you today.
