Pray for Persecuted Christians with The One Year Pray for the Persecuted Bible
Prayer prompt from the January 4 entry in The One Year Pray for the Persecuted Bible:
When Asif, a Pakistani Christian, dared to lead his coworkers in prayer, the factory owner told him to stop praying. But Asif continued, even giving his boss a Bible. The owner brought an Islamic cleric to persuade Asif to accept Islam. Asif’s refusal led to an ultimatum: accept Islam or lose his job. Asif’s response: “My God will provide.” • Lord, provide for Asif and all my brothers and sisters like him whose love for you costs them their livelihoods. Keep their zeal fresh. May they stay eager to share you with their friends, family, and coworkers. Amen.
You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and new wine abound. I will both lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, Lord, make me live in safety.
Psalm 4:7–8 (CSB)
With The One Year Pray for the Persecuted Bible, you will read through the whole Bible in one year as you pray daily for Christians around the world who, like Asif, are suffering for their faith in Christ. You will be equipped to apply the principles of God’s unchanging Word to your prayers for persecuted Christians.
This special edition of The One Year Bible includes daily prayer prompts to help you intercede for persecuted Christians and full-color pages that feature six stories of those who boldly witness for Christ at great personal cost. A fold-out map highlights the hostile areas and restricted nations where Christians are persecuted.
