Evangelist’s Home Burned
A Pakistani evangelist, his wife and two young children are homeless after local Muslims, angered by his Christian ministry, set fire to his home. Evangelist Salim Chaudhry regularly traveled throughout the area near his home village to share the gospel. He also constructed a small church on land he owned. When he put a cross on top of the building, members of the community objected and began harassing his family, regularly calling them derogatory names. On July 5, 2026, someone set fire to the family’s home while they were at a church service, destroying everything inside. The family is now living with relatives, and the children are afraid to go outside. “Our house was burned by fanatics because we are Christians and we worship God in church to glorify his name,” said Salim. “We are now homeless, and our young children are traumatized after seeing our house destroyed. Please pray God will give us peace.”
