Merv Knight has served our persecuted brothers and sisters
for more than 40 years. He has held many positions over the years and most
recently served as VOM’s Ambassador at Large for all VOM-affiliated missions
around the world. He serves on the board of VOM-USA and plays an active part in
the ongoing work of VOM Australia. Perhaps his most important contribution to
the work of serving the persecuted was summed up in the recent words of one of
VOM’s executives: “Merv Knight has served as a spiritual advisor to us all.”
Merv first became involved in the work of VOM in 1969 when
he was part of a group of people who hosted Pastor Richard Wurmbrand in
Australia. Richard encouraged the group to begin an Australian-based ministry
to the persecuted, and Merv went on to establish that work in partnership with
several other Australian believers. After Richard’s death, more than 10 years
ago, Merv helped the organization transition from a ministry focused on anti-Christian
persecution under communist regimes to a ministry focused on anti-Christian
persecution under Islam and other anti-Christian ideologies.
In this video interview, Merv shares his insights on Pastor
Wurmbrand, the work of VOM and his more than 40 years of working with and
serving persecuted Christians.
